“This is an excellent safe however it’s not flush the outer housing sticks out from the wall about 1/4″ so if you hang a picture the picture will not sit flush with wall however you can figure ways to get around this. Overall I mounted it and every time I use it I’ve had no problems (very satisfied)” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

“Plenty good sized for perhaps up to four medium frame pistols. With just one shelf, it divides the space nicely. Additional shelf(s) is available V-Line but not necessary for my use. I like that it meets CA approved storage device for weapons. The case does not feel cheap and is of high quality made in the USA. A push button combo locks with no batteries to replace. And when you need it fast, or you’re half asleep, you won’t accidentally get locked out.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

8. Mesa Safe Wall Safe ($110.71)
This is a battery-operated electronic lock which is specially designed for easy installation in homes and offices. It also comes with pre-drilled anchor holes and has two interior shelves. The adjustable depth gives the user the ability to adjust the outside depth from 3-1/2” to 6”. It is ideal for protecting documents and miscellaneous valuables.
“I looked for a month to find a wall safe that would work for me. I called around also and discovered that several resellers said that this was their number one selling wall safe. Since this had such a low price, I was worried it was going to be junk, but I was extremely pleased when I opened the box as it is very thick and sturdy. The locking mechanism and the combination work perfectly and have the feel of a $300 safe. It is very sturdy. I agree with a couple of other reviewers that the expanding back could be much easier to set up but my wife and I spent about 20-30 minutes with this and got it perfect, right up to the maximum depth my wall would allow. I don’t mind this inconvenience because it fit perfectly and everything else works great and has a high-quality feel. For $111 to $130 this is a steal!” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

7. Barska Wall Safe ($175.99)
This unit is capable of storing and recognizing up to 120 users. This safe can easily be hidden behind a picture, console or furniture. It has two point deadbolt system which is capable of overriding in the case of battery failure. The unit measures 15.5 inches x 3.73 inches x 20.75 inches and weighs 28.8 lbs. The body is made from steel. The unit requires 4 AA batteries and is not fireproof. It is ideal for quickly accessing your valuables at the time of emergency.
“Wow. I was impressed with the quality of all parts, the looks, and the accuracy of the reader. I tried to fool the sensor with fingers not recorded in the system, and it has always been accurate. It takes about 3 seconds from the time you push the wake-up button, scan the finger, and turn the little black wheel to open the door. I looked at other safes with keypads (where you have to enter four digit code), but if someone sees you keying the code, like your kids, which it happens a lot, the safe is not so safe anymore. Also, if you’re in hurry where you need to grab something quick like a gun, and you incorrectly push a wrong number, or your emotions betray you and forget it, you’re done!!! That’s why I went biometric and didn’t regret it. There a couple more things to mention about this safe. 1) It comes with two keys in case the system runs out of battery or if you lose your fingers (LOL). The key hole is nicely hidden behind the “Barska” metal name tag (below the turning wheel). You will need to remove the tag with another wrench (also provided) and then access the keyhole. 2) They also provide a small electrical box, again, in case the reader runs out of batteries, where you put regular AA batteries and plug it to the scanner to provide juice/electricity and to make it work again.(hole is hidden below on the side of the scanner). Long story short, I’m very impressed with the quality and looks of this safe. Highly recommended!” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

6. Stack-On Wall Safe ($35.00)
This in-wall cabinet is safe for homes and offices. The unit includes two removable steel shelves and measures 15-3/8″W x 3 7/8″D x 22 1/4″. The bottom of the cabinet and the shelves have foam padding to protect your valuables. The steel door has a 3 point locking system that secures the door at the top and bottom as well as the opening side of the door. It is ideal for holding documents, valuables, and pistols.
“I received this cabinet. This is the second IWC, I have purchased (I also bought the IWC-55), and this one arrived with the corner bent on the lower left-hand side. I bent it back. The paint was a little chipped from the bend. I sanded and painted it (which I was going to match the colour of the wall anyway). It’s a little inconvenient but not a big deal. That is why I gave it four stars instead of 5. The cabinet works well and secures everything. For the money, it is an excellent way to go. A safe, someone can steal (some are harder than others) but with this, you hide it in a closet, and they will never know its there. You can’t steal what you can’t find. I will probably purchase a third cabinet in the future. This fits several handguns and magazines. I also have several 30 rounds and 20 round AR mags locked up in mine. Excellent product.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

5. Protex Wall Safe ($167.18)
This wall safe comes with a digital keypad. This unit has been designed to be burglary resistant. The motorized locking bolt system will open the door automatically and is designed to be installed between 16″ o/c wall studs. It features two removable shelves and comes with flanges so that you don’t need to re-plaster the walls. Wall safes can be opened by an electronic lock or biometric lock depending on the model you choose. It is an excellent investment, indeed.
“I just spent the entire day installing this safe and am not quite done with covering all tracks of the construction surgery due to all the suitable wall spaces in my old house having studs at considerably less than standard 16″o.c. distance.
That little contretemps aside, this product is the first rate. Sturdy, easy to use (and to install, if you live in a modern house), this massive safe looks and feels sturdy and crowbar-proof, yet has a pleasing interior thanks to a velvety interior cladding. Punch in your personal 4-digit code and the door springs open on its own and illuminates the safe interior through a hidden LED light. The effect is almost magic and very inviting. There is also a 6-digit override code in case you forget the 4-digit code. Both are easy to reprogram from their factory settings. While the locking mechanism requires 4 AA batteries to work, there is a secondary exterior battery compartment that can be used in the unlikely case that the internal batteries run out. You would have to ignore the low-battery warnings or not use the safe for a long time for that to happen. Finally, there is a set of rather odd-looking keys to open the safe the old-fashioned way if all of the above were to fail. My biggest worry at this minute is where to store these keys, so I would find and identify them if ever needed, but in a place, a burglar would not bother to look… I am thinking my safe at the bank.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

4. Stack-On Wall Safe ($83.30)
This wall safe comes with an electronic lock. It has a solid plate steel and a pry-resistant door with an extra-thick steel locking plate for security. The unit also has a three-point locking system with key coded cylindrical lock. It features adjustable barrel rests that are extended to accommodate the added depth needed to store tactical weapons. It provides incredible security at a great value.
“This is great in a wall safe, and very reasonably priced. It has a keypad where you can have a 6-8 digit code, and it has two bolts that are made of metal. The safe weighs a tonne. It is powered by 4 AA Batteries and has a key override in case the batteries go out when the safe is in use. The key is very well hidden and has tumblers on both sides, so it makes it slightly harder to pick. I believe this is a genuinely secure safe, unlike many other reviewers. It is perfect for personal use at home. We have gone over that the safe is very secure, now, here is a good way to make it even more secure. All you need are 16″ Drawer slides and a mirror, or picture with a wooden frame. Mount the slides on both the top and bottom of the safe and the top and bottom of the picture or mirror. When you do this, you will be able to slide the image over, and then have access to the safe. When the safe is not in use, you can push the picture back over, and the safe is out of sight. I would also recommend trying Lithium Batteries, as they will last much longer compared to regular alkaline batteries. Overall, this is a great safe, and it seems very secure, and I would give it a full five stars.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

3. Homak Wall Safe ($32.14)
This high-security steel wall safe features a tubular locking mechanism and fits between 16 inches wall studs. You can also install this unit on the floor. It is made from premium quality steel; measures: 14 1/2 x 8 3/4 x 4″ and weighs 4 1/2 lbs. The unit has a flush lock for easy concealment and features four mounting holes (16″) on center for placing in wall framing right between 2 studs, tamper-resistant lock with 2 keys. It’s flush, so a framed picture or a poster can conceal it. It has a sturdy all-steel construction and heavy-duty swing hinge door.
“I bought this as my battery operated gun safe would eat batteries. None of my interior studs was at 16 inches since I have a walk in closet and the bathroom is on one side with vents, so I had to stay away from that wall and the other wall had a flat screen with multiple wires going to it for HD, TiVo and Cable inside the walls so I had to mount it adjacent to the walk-in door. After cutting the desired opening in the drywall I bought a 1×4 and cut it into 15 inch sections, used some construction adhesive and carefully slide them in while gently alternating the hammer from top to bottom driving the spacers in so I could box in the studs to make a 16 opening for inside bolt holes (12 of them). It took longer to clean the closet out for working in it than it did cutting the hole and mounting the bolts in safe. Think ahead and find four security lag bolts for the face, it will just make it look more secure. Safe has six extra lag bolts for bolting sideways into the studs, takes a few seconds to get them started but using the proper impact driver, and drill setup makes the job easy. Holds quite a bit for being so small. If you look closely, the exposed door is spot welded to another door that has the hinge and lock, if someone prys the front door off, another flush mounted door with the lock and hinge are still there, pretty slick.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

2. Paragon Lock and Safe Wall Safe ($84.06)
This unit is externally powder coated and weighs 37 pounds. It is made of sturdy steel and is resistant to hand and mechanical tools. It measures 22 inches high x 16 inches wide x 4 inches deep. You can either code access it or key access it. The flat panel design allows you to conceal it safely. It is easy to program and runs on AA (1.5V) batteries. It has pre-drilled holes inside and features fixing bolts to allow anchoring. The insides are tamper-proof and a gray carpet mat pads on inside bottom.
“I bought this safe because it was the best one for the money I found at the time. Heavy steel construction, took one hr and lots of drywall dust to put up. Per recommendations from other people, I bought six hex head screws and used a drill and a socket wrench to install safe to studs. Overall, I am jubilant with the quality and free shipping from Amazon. I put some electrical tape along the inside closing edge of the door. This was enough to dampen the metal on metal sound when closing. Also, as I did not want any noise when entering my code, I removed the little beeper from the circuit board. Lights still work. I was able to enter two different codes without a problem. Instructions are vague how to enter codes, disregard reference to master code and user code. You have two codes; both have the same functionality. One system requires xxxxA; the other is xxxxB. Hence the reason you have A and B on the keypad. Test out the functionality of your codes and key operation of safe before installing. As others have said, remove door to ease installation. If you do remove the door, be careful not to lose the two ball bearings, which fall out when you remove the hinge pins. Ball bearings go at top/bottom of hinges, with pivot pins installed next. I noticed when the safe was locked; there was some play in the unlock handle which allowed slight movement/opening of the locking rods. I opened up the inside cover by removing the four screws. Yup, it was misadjusted, and some of the screws were loose. Simple mechanism to adjust. Tightened up all the bolts, checked for correct operation. This lock mechanism and the electronic circuit are used in some safes, all from China. In fact, Amazon has some vendors who sell this same wall safe under different names. Want to save $30? See Harbor Freight Tools and their Bunker Hill wall safe. Look familiar? Only the names have been changed to confuse the naive.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

1. AmazonBasics Wall Safe ($48.74)
This 0.5 cubic-feet security safe comes with two emergency override keys. The unit has a sturdy and rugged steel construction and is carpeted to protect against scratches and damage to the valuables. It is neither water nor fire-proof. The exterior measures 13.8 by 9.8 by 9.8 inches (L x W x H) while the interior space measures 13.5 x 8.75 x 9.5 inches (L x W x H) and the door is approximately 2 inches thick. It features two door bolts and pry-resistant concealed hinges which are adjustable. It has programmable digital access and uses AA batteries (not included.)
“Go ahead and buy it. I researched and compared many different similar safes and options. I settled on this because of my positive experience with Amazon and the unbeatable price point. I received and installed this yesterday, and I must say I am quite pleased. I needed something that would give me quick access when needed, yet keep unauthorised fingers off of my home defence handgun. This safe is bigger than I thought it was. It will hold more than one gun along with ammo and other things. I have it bolted inside of a large solid wood wardrobe. While not completely impervious, it would take some time and considerable effort for a burglar to compromise it. Such is the case for pretty much any safe.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.
