Tesla went quite popular with their electric vehicles, but they are not leaving any margin for their other energy products. The company has come up with a clever idea of demonstrating their energy products using a futuristic Tiny Home. Tesla’s energy division will tour Australia to spread awareness about powering the homes with sustainable electrical power sources.

A Tesla Model X will tow the Tiny House to display the installed renewable energy solutions across the country. The company intends to provide reliable power storage systems for individual homes, all the way to the national grid level. A Tesla spokesperson explained:

“The tour is designed to provide a one-on-one educational experience on how to integrate Powerwall and solar to seamlessly power an entire home 24/7, allowing Australian consumers to gain control and understanding of their power use.”

The home energy package from Tesla does not offer the solar roof tiles but has simple solar panels with the Powerwall battery. The tour will teach people how to harness, store, and use renewable energy.

The house towed by Model X does not only operate on renewable energy, but it is also built using sustainable and chemical free timber. The house was designed by ArchiBlox, an architecture firm that specializes in modular units of this sort. Equipped with a 2kW photovoltaic system, this tiny unit measures only 6m x 2.2m x 4m. Six solar panels and a Powerwall harness will store all the solar power. A team from Tesla will be available to guide people about the installation of this sustainable electrical power.

“Powered by 100% renewable energy via a 2 kW solar system and Powerwall, Tiny House contains a mobile design studio and configurator which can calculate how your home can generate clean energy from the sun using solar panels, storing it in Powerwall to use throughout the day and night, which can all be monitored and controlled by the Tesla app.”

Australia is a market that “has the world’s highest per capita penetration of rooftop solar with 15% of households using solar for a total of 1.5 million households across the country.” This makes the country ideal for renewable energy, so Tesla is running their campaign to exploit the opportunities in Australia. Australia will become one of the first countries to access Powerwall 2 installations. Recently, Tesla won a bid to install the largest lithium-ion battery storage facility in South Australia. With all of this, Tesla is creeping into the Australian power market, both at national and domestic level.

In the next few months, Tesla Tiny House will visit the Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane. The tour will end in October, and until then, you can submit a request for the Tiny House to visit your town if it is not one of those large cities mentioned above.

A smart and clever idea indeed!
