In a remarkable feat of DIY engineering, YouTube channel Concept Crafted Creations has designed a one-of-a-kind water gun that fires frozen ice bullets instead of the traditional water stream. The creator embarked on this ambitious project over a year ago, driven by a desire to create a water gun powerful enough to leave all conventional models in the dust.
The unique design is meticulously documented in a recent video and involves a combination of 3D-printed parts and sophisticated electronics. “I wanted to create a water gun so powerful that it would make all other water guns look like baby toys,” the creator explains. This goal required rethinking traditional limitations, such as the common 30-foot range of standard water guns, due to the effects of air resistance, which typically break up the stream and limit its distance.
To counteract this, the creator chose to freeze water into solid projectiles, allowing them to hold their shape and travel farther. The water is pumped into a small chamber, where thermoelectric cooling elements freeze it into pellets. A controlled heating element then slightly warms the chamber, preventing the ice from sticking and enabling smooth ejection. Finally, compressed air launches the ice bullets with impressive speed, offering an extended range and increased power.
The gun even includes LED strips on the sides for a high-tech feel, signaling when the ice bullets are ready to fire. This visual feature ensures a smooth, user-friendly experience. However, the creator’s innovation has sparked debate. “Before pulling the trigger, I’m going to ask you again: does this still count as a water gun, or what category does this engineering marvel fall into?”
