Jem Stansfield showed how focused sunlight can be used to melt almost any substance on earth on his show, Bang Goes The Theory. Many of us have seen metal being melted by sunlight. For example, the case of the car melted by sunlight focused off of a convex-shaped building across the street.
Jem traveled to the Solar Furnace Research Facility, located in Southern France, to see the power of highly concentrated sunlight in action.
