As the Ciel hotel approaches completion and is set to become the tallest hotel in the world, Dubai is once again pushing the boundaries of architectural ambition. Ciel, which will rise more than 1,197 feet above the city’s skyline, will dominate Dubai Marina, the biggest artificial marina in the world, and provide breathtaking 360-degree views of the Burj Khalifa, the Palm Jumeirah islands, and the Persian Gulf. It will have 1,004 rooms when it opens later this year, including 147 opulent suites on 82 floors, all of which are oriented to take full advantage of the expansive views from the floor-to-ceiling windows.
The hotel’s opulent amenities are garnering attention despite its height. The Tattu Sky Pool and Lounge complex will feature a record-breaking infinity pool on the 76th floor, 1,004 feet above the ground. At 1,158 feet, the sky restaurant will provide diners with a unique culinary experience and unmatched views. A 12-story atrium sky garden with landscaped terraces and natural ventilation will also be a feature of the Ciel, offering a sense of tranquility amid the clouds.

Important construction milestones have been reached: the dining and recreation areas are gradually taking shape, the lobby is now 65% complete, and the guest room furniture installation is almost halfway done. NORR, the same architecture firm that created Atlantis The Palm, created the hotel’s eye-catching design, guaranteeing that Ciel will become yet another iconic building on Dubai’s skyline. When Ciel opens, it will overtake the 1,169-foot Gevora Hotel, which is currently Dubai’s tallest hotel, further cementing the city’s standing as a haven for record-breaking achievements.
This daring addition to Dubai’s hospitality scene carries on the global trend of pushing the boundaries of architecture. The race to the top is far from over, as evidenced by Canada’s celebration of its first “supertall” skyscraper in Toronto just last week. Excitement is growing for the day when visitors will ascend into the clouds for the ultimate hotel experience as construction workers complete Ciel.
