The Engineer
With the technological development that has been going on, it would seem that the world is only focusing on the fastest cars and smartest gadgets. However, every now and then, we find ourselves facing something, which tells us that there are still people out there who are tweaking the existing pleasures of life and are using the science and technology to enhance the human experience. Doesn’t make a lot of sense, does it? Alright, let’s break it down; how many of you love Ferris wheel? We bet the number must be quite high. However, don’t you feel like that the current Ferris wheels are rather small? Wouldn’t it be great to have a huge, gigantic Ferris wheel? If your answer is yes, then you are in for a treat.
Welcome to Las Vegas Strip where the world’s tallest Ferris wheel has opened up on 31st March, 2014. The wheel is 550 ft tall and is named the ‘High Roller’. It has a wheel with a diameter of 520 ft and beats the previous record holder, Singapore Flyer by 9 ft. The High Roller is about a hundred foot taller than the London Eye. It is situated right across the Caesars Palace and is adjacent to the Flamingo Las Vegas and the Quad Resort and Casino.
28 glass enclosed cabins are supported by the High Roller with each cabin having a capacity of 40 people. The wheel moves at a speed of 1ft/sec, which is more than comfortable and makes the viewing quite easy. One complete rotation takes about 30 minutes and during this ride of 30 minutes the passengers are able to absorb views of the Las Vegas Strip and the surrounding valley.
High Roller also has 2,000 LED lights incorporated into it which can either be programmed to give off the same color or can be altered to give different colors depending upon the nature of the event. It is one spectacular ride to see and experience. Check out the youtube video below for more:
