This is a dream come true for all those Tom Cruise movie fanatics. Jetpack Aviation has finally announced it’s all awesome JB-10 jetpack to be commercially available “to well-qualified buyers.”

The turbine laden jetpack is due to be ready for delivery by April 2017. The is an addition to its predecessor and has been termed to be 7 percent more efficient. JB-9 also made headlines when it flew up to 1,000 ft (305 m) per minute and could go on for about 10 minutes before requiring refuelling.

But before you start flying off in your imagination, it does require some prior training before you can be licenced to fly. In fact, one of the greatest challenges was to find a way to train new pilots before allowing them to demonstrate the jetpack.

To make things easier and safer for the pilot, the Jetpack Aviation team has looked to increasing the reliability of the electric, tethered training facility and focused on providing predictable and controllable flight dynamics.

But since this still is a new technology, with limited exposure in the real world, its creator Mayman and his team want to be on the safe side and only allow “trained” pilots to have a go so that they can avoid any misfortunes or unwanted controversies even before the product starts to take off.

The team also announced the development of another jetpack entailing three more turbines per side, taking the total to six instead of the current two. This will allow some backup engines in case of ballistic failure, and a new automatic thrust management system is also being designed to run make this happen.

Although the pricing hasn’t been revealed by the Jetpack Aviation, they have set up a contest where you can win your own jetpack flight!
