Microsoft isn’t slowing down when it comes to weaving Copilot deeper into Windows 11. The latest Insider Preview brings yet another button and this time tucked into the taskbar preview when hovering over an open app. The new option, called “Share with Copilot”, connects directly to Copilot Vision, a tool designed to analyze what’s on your screen and provide more context through Microsoft’s AI assistant.
Hover over a window in the taskbar, and you’ll notice a new icon waiting for your click. As Microsoft describes, the feature allows you to: “Share with Copilot”
Doing so triggers Copilot Vision, which scans the visible content, whether it’s a sports celebration you want to identify or a sculpture you’ve snapped a photo of. Once analyzed, you can chat with Copilot to dig deeper, explore details, or even receive tutorials related to the content.
Microsoft demonstrated this within Edge, where the preview window clearly shows the new Share with Copilot option.
Still, not everyone may be thrilled about yet another Copilot shortcut. As the article points out, “Have enough Copilot buttons in your life? No you don’t have another one!” Users already encounter Copilot in Microsoft Paint, Notepad, the taskbar, dedicated keyboard keys, and even some PC hardware.
Interestingly, the same Insider Preview build also introduces a translation tool that converts on-screen text—a feature arguably more useful than another Copilot shortcut. Microsoft admits this new taskbar option may not stick around, noting that it’s “just trying out this taskbar capability.”
So, don’t be surprised if it disappears in a future update before reaching general release.
