Wilson Grill Uses Solar Energy To Make You The Perfect Steak

The Wilson Solar Grills4

Who doesn’t like to do some grilling out on in the yard with a couple of friends? Everyone does and we all know it. Barbecue is like a social gathering that makes friends and families to get together while also satisfying our love for food. Grilled dishes are also more healthy than fried food.  However, despite all the good reasons, can’t ignore the fact that it is not environment-friendly with all the burning coal and wood emitting large amounts of pollutants. The Wilson Solar Grills3

This is where MIT’s professor David Wilson comes in who has come up with a new design for barbecue grill that doesn’t rely on coal, wood or electricity. The grill he has come up with relies on solar energy and can be used for the purpose of grilling, heating food and cooking. The Wilson Solar Grills

The Wilson Solar Grills is capable of reaching temperature of 230° Celsius and comes with a lithium nitrate battery that is capable of storing solar energy for 25 hours of continuous use. This means that you can use it for a complete day without worrying about battery. Oh and did we mention that this bad boy has zero CO2 emissions and zero electricity consumption?
The grill uses Fresnel lens that was created by a French Physicist Augustin-Jean Fresnel. The lens is very thin and allows more light to pass through when compared to a conventional lens. Hence, the grill is very efficient at converting sunlight into solar energy. The Wilson Solar Grills2

Currently the challenge being faced by the group of MIT students and Professor Wilson is to come up with strategies that will allow them to manufacture the device on large scale and distribute it globally. May we suggest Kickstarter for this purpose Prof. Wilson?

African countries will mass procure a renewable energy source of fuel as cost of cooking and roasting using kerosene and gas becomes expensive. I live in Africa and will be an early bird ready to buy.

When are these going to be available to buy and how much will they cost?

No African family will use such a thing, even if they got it for free… and no African family will be willing to pay for it.
