7. North Korea’s female uniforms

North Korea being North Korea, that’s all!

6. India

India chose a lighter, orange and khaki-color scheme but the rest is more or less the same. The picture was taken during the changing of guard on Pak-Indian border, Wahga Border, and this happens every day.

5. Pakistan

Apart from the headdress, we’d say the uniform does look quite intimidating.

4. Greek Parade Dress

The uniform is for an elite unit  light infantry  which has been given the responsibility of guarding the Greek Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The unit is known as Evzones. Soldiers must be 6’1” at least to qualify for induction. The skirt is known as fustanells kilt and is created from exactly 98 ft. of cloth that has been folded into 400 pleats – each pleat representing a year of Turkish occupation.

3. The Yeomen of the Guard

Although these soldiers are only for ceremonial purpose, they are required to have 22 years of military service before being inducted in The Yeomen of the Guard and are seasoned veterans.

2. The Right Honourable Yeoman Warders

The full title is ‘Yeomen Warders of Her Majesty’s Royal Palace and Fortress the Tower of London, and Members of the Sovereign’s Body Guard of the Yeoman Guard Extraordinary’. Confused? Well, they guard the tower of London but act as tourist guides nowadays. These soldiers are commonly known as ‘Beefeaters’.

1. The Swiss Guard dress uniform

Each uniform requires 154 pieces of cloth along with 3 fittings for completion. It weighs 8 pounds and qualifies as the heaviest uniform that is still in use by a standing army. These soldiers wear armour as well and carry swords, halberd, Glocks and SIG pistols.
