Mechatronics is relatively a new field and was originally a mixture of mechanical and electrical engineering but has now grown into a design process which covers mechanical, electrical, telecommunication, control and computer engineering. The word Mechatronics was coined by Mr. Tetsuro Mori who worked at Yaskawa Electric Corporation.
