WATCH: Russia Unveils Its New 5th Generation Fighter Jet

It is no secret that the countries around the world are working on their defense systems and investing heavily in the military sector of their respective countries. This is so because the world is heading towards global crises of multiple sorts. There is a clear possibility of a war between the countries for rights over certain resources that are depleting excessively. In this race, superpowers are leading, and let it be China, the United States of America, Russia, or a few other countries, preparations are being made.

Russia has unveiled a new fighter jet to compete with the likes of the F-22 Raptor and F-35 Lightning. The fifth-generation fighter jet is state-of-the-art and is nothing like the other fighter jets that the military already has. It is manufactured by Rostec and the specifications are as follows.

This amazing fighter jet was exhibited for the first time at the MAKS-2021 International Aviation and Space Salon in Zhukovsky. This place is approximately around 2 hours from the capital city of Moscow. The jet is named Checkmate and is positioned to be the rival or a competitor of the already existing F-35 aircraft. There was a marketing campaign behind the reveal, and it was finally unveiled on television after a successful buzz.

The fighter jet has only one engine and is categorized as the Light Tactical Aircraft. A similar sort of technology exists in different countries too and this is designed to compete them. It can serve as a direct rival to USAF’s F-22 Raptor, Chinese Chengdu J-20, and Russia’s own Sukhoi Su-57. However, this aircraft is supposed to be more efficient than the ones mentioned.

It is more economical and lightweight since the others are double-engine while this one is a single-engine jet. The range is about 1800 miles, and the capacity is 7400 kg. the main feature of the jet is that it can hit 6 targets simultaneously with precision and accuracy. The price of the jet is estimated to be US$ 25-30 million. Russia had recently tested its hypersonic cruise missile in Tsirkon as well. Combined with this, the Russian military is getting confident in defending itself.
