Watch A Driver Ramp Off A Parked Truck And Hit Another Car

A crash that occurred as if it were in a Grand Theft Auto game happened in rural Georgia where a car was launched into the air.

A 21-year-old driver from Tallahassee, Florida, apparently lost focus on the road while the police were dealing with an incident on the opposite side of the highway.

Accidentally, she used the lowered bed of a rollback tow truck as a ramp, which is something that many drivers have been intrusively thinking of doing one day.

The whole crash was captured on film and the footage recorded by Trooper Darryll Fulghum’s body-worn camera shows the Nissan veering towards the shoulder of Route 38, where a Freightliner rollback had its bed lowered. The trooper reacted quickly, running towards the car and calling for medical assistance.

“Happened yesterday in Rural South Georgia,” wrote /u/Donaltman3, the user who originally posted the video to Reddit’s /r/IdiotsInCars. “There was another accident that happened just before this…these people were rubber necking (sic) not paying attention and didn’t see the tow vehicle. The people in the car were banged up but survived, I’m not sure how.”

The driver was in a Nissan and was taken to the hospital after being removed from the vehicle. The front crash bar on the rollback’s bed was ripped off, but the cab remained undamaged despite the car launching from it.

Another Nissan Altima was also involved in the crash when the airborne Nissan hit it while rolling over. The flying Nissan stopped after traveling 23 feet, and debris from the accident injured a deputy who was also taken to the hospital.

The driver was cited for not wearing a seatbelt and violating Georgia’s driver’s licensing requirements.

This incident serves as a reminder of why “Move Over” laws exist. Accidents are always unexpected and can occur at any time in our daily lives which is why it is important to stay focused on the road and be aware of your surroundings.

When you see flashing lights on the side of the road, whether it’s an ambulance, fire truck, police car, or tow truck, make sure to move over. It can save lives.
