US Firm Unveils Factory Where Humanoids Will Build Robots And Deliver 12,000 Units A Year

Figure operates as a robotics company based in California that announced the creation of its BotQ manufacturing facility to produce humanoid robots at high volumes. The initial production line at the company will produce 12,000 humanoid robots yearly, while the company plans to scale up its operations in the future.

Figure implements vertical integration to keep complete authority over manufacturing quality standards, production efficiency, and product performance. The company achieves rapid design modification and quality response capabilities through this manufacturing strategy because it enables end-to-end coordination between production stages.

The BotQ facility will utilize advanced manufacturing software that includes both a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for real-time production tracking and control of production lines. The development process of each robot will be managed by Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) from design to manufacturing, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) will optimize scheduling, logistics, and resource allocation. The Warehouse Management System (WMS) dedicated platform will maximize warehouse inventory control.

Figure has implemented a strategic plan to incorporate their humanoid robots into production lines for assisting in assembling new robots. Through this method the company will achieve better automation and faster production speeds together with decreased human labor in repetitive work.

The company moves forward with its Figure 02 prototype to launch Figure 03 as the production version with reduced components and simplified design. CNC machining will be replaced by injection molding and die-casting, which shortens production durations from weeks to seconds.

Specialized teams will perform thorough testing to guarantee safety and reliability, and Helix AI software from the company will operate as the control system for robots working on the production line. The BotQ facility at Figure represents a major advancement in humanoid robot production through its combination of human operators and robotic employees, thus enabling large-scale industrial automation.
