UK Man Got His BMW Crushed While He Was In Surgery

man got his BMW crushed

A Welsh man, recovering from his surgery got the worst possible shock when his BMW went missing from his designated parking space in his apartment. In November 2016, A man known to the world only as Mr. G went through an ankle surgery at Wrexham Maelor Hospital in northern Wales. When he returned to his apartment, he found out that his BMW 323 had been destroyed after the local government’s “maladministration.”

He first suspected that his car is stolen, so he went to the local police station. UK vehicle registration revealed that the vehicle was parked in the wrong address and had been deemed “off the road.” No evidence of a search could come up or a warning sent to Mr. G. It became clear that the car has been impounded and being destroyed by the local government.

This green BMW 323 had cost him $18,308 back in 2004. In addition to that, he had also invested $3,296 in the new engine and braking system. Moreover, there were $2,615 worth of tools in the trunk. Mr. G said, “I was utterly horrified and so confused because I couldn’t understand why they took away a vehicle that was registered to me at my address.”

The local government, known as Flintshire council, refused to reimburse him and denied responsibility. An ombudsman report says that the destruction was a lack of responsibility. “This is as classic a case of maladministration as I have witnessed in four years of office,” says Public Services Ombudsman.

Mr. G will be getting $3,592 for all the trouble he had to go through which although doesn’t match up to his loss but something is better than nothing. Hopefully, Flintshire council will notify someone the next time their car is turned into a cube.
