This Video Shows The Terrifying Scale Of Destruction Caused By Modern Nuclear Weapons

The bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki taught the world that nuclear weapons are not something to be toyed around! The horrific aftermath of the nuclear bombings in Japan was the only thing that kept the US and the Soviet Union from plunging into a full-scale war.

In spite of the threat it poses to the humanity, the nuclear weaponry is being developed at a faster pace. In fact, the latest atomic bombs are so powerful that the one dropped on Hiroshima serves as a unit of measurement to comprehend the range of destruction they can wreak. The force of the explosion nearly destroyed the plane that deployed the bomb. The Tsar Bomba was tested in the Northern Russian region of Novaya Zemlya. Reports suggest that the destructive force shattered windows as far as Finland and Norway.

Tsar Bomba is regarded as the most powerful nuclear explosion in the history. The bomb exploded with a force of 50 megatonnes, equivalent to the 3,333 Hiroshimas. The Russians also planned to test a 100-megatonnes bomb, twice as powerful as the Tsar Bomba. However, the testing was never carried out.

B83 is the largest nuke in the American arsenal. The mushroom cloud created by its explosion will be taller than the height of a commercial aircraft.
