This Tiny House Expands In Size With The Push Of A Button

The house firm”Tiny Idahomes” has created an RV inspired slide-out home that is getting really popular.

The recent model costs US$68,899 and has a dining room, a bedroom, and lounge that can slide in or out using just a button.

The tiny house is also towable, so it has been legally classified as an RV.

It measures 26 ft (7.9 m) length and comprises a maximum total floor space of 250 sq ft (23 sq m).

The roof is made out of metal with board and batten coating, while the interior walls are coated with white painted ply.

The house entails a fairly large U-shaped kitchen, a small bathroom having the facility of shower, sink and toilet, and a small storage room.

Three A-frame slide-out sections are deployed to expand the bedroom on the ground floor, and also increase the area of the lounge, and the dining room.

These electrically powered slide-outs contain two metal rails powered by a 12 V electric motor on each side.

The structure has a triple-seal protection and a drainage gutter to make sure that no water gets inside the house.

The entire unit can be powered using a RV hookup or a solar unit. The oven uses propane, while there are also two 12 V batteries on board.

Four water tanks are used to store fresh water and sewerage separately.

The Walls, floor, and ceiling are rated to an R-value of R-15.

The current model is only a demo and the company says the product still needs some changes before the design can be commercialized.
