There is a new device from China that is changing how we think about portable computing: A keyboard computer that folds up, using the AMD Ryzen 7 processor. Made by Linglong, this device can be folded to the size of a large smartphone or a quarter-sheet of A4 paper and will fit into a jacket or an oversized trouser pocket, but when opened, it becomes a full-sized mechanical keyboard powered by Windows 11 Pro.
Inside, it’s no slouch. This computer has an AMD Ryzen 7 7840U processor, 16GB of fast LPDDR5 memory, and can store up to 1TB of data. This tiny device gets impressive graphics from the integrated Radeon 780M GPU based on the RDNA3 architecture.
The hardware is inside an aluminum chassis machined by CNC, so it feels both high-quality and strong. It weighs just under 800 grams but is meant for serious use. The keyboard uses real switches that can handle 100,000 keystrokes. There’s no touchpad or pointing stick, but you can use external mice with it through the USB or Bluetooth 5.2 connection.

It has USB4, USB-C 3.2, USB-A 3.2, Wi-Fi 6, and a USB-based HDMI-compatible output, which allows you to connect multiple displays. With a battery capacity of 16,000 mAh, you get 10 hours of use, great for mobile work, media, or casual gaming.
You can check real-time CPU and GPU information with a built-in display. The Linglong foldable PC, which can only be bought in China, is similar to the Orange Pi 800 in showing what a small PC can do.
Right now, it is a marvel for a specific audience, but its smart design and complete desktop capabilities could inspire more ultra-portable workstations. It would be great if this remarkable design became available everywhere or at least led to similar devices in other countries.
