Ain Dubai, formerly Dubai-I, is an observation wheel on Bluewaters Island, near the Dubai Marina in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It began construction in 2015 and is due to open in 2021 as the world’s tallest Ferris wheel with a height of over 250 meters, overtaking the High Roller in Las Vegas.
Ain Dubai will provide 360-degree views of Dubai’s famous horizon – the Burj Al Arab, Marina, Palm Jumeirah and Burj Khalifa all in sight. With its location upon Bluewaters Island, off the coast of Jumeirah Beach, Ain Dubai is set to be the crown jewel of this development. Once open it will sit alongside residential apartments, two hotels, high end restaurants and a retail Souk. The wheel will be able to carry up to 1,400 passengers, in its 48 capsules. Its base will serve as an entertainment zone, and an 80-metre (260 ft) LED screen will be mounted on the wheel creating an electronic platform for broadcasting, advertisements, and other information. The 48 capsules each capable of carrying 40 passengers, can also be transformed to provide “in capsule” dining. There are also 6 dedicated VIP capsules that means this attraction will become a venue for all occasions.
Ain Dubai is yet another feat of architectural and engineering triumph in Dubai’s famous skyline, this project will undoubtedly attract large swaths of tourists once it is open, adding to Dubai’s status as a global hub of entertainment and leisure.
