LG wants to debut ‘tiiun,’ a revolutionary smart gardening gadget that will allow inexperienced gardeners to grow vegetables, herbs, and even flowers in their homes all year long, at CES 2022. The device has a transparent front door, automated temperature, and water settings and can help you grow your greens even if you aren’t a master at it.
According to the company, the LG tiiun is a self-contained unit with two shelves that can house up to six all-in-one seed packages and three different kinds of seed kits. Each seed packet has ten seed germination holes, allowing users to develop a variety of greens at the same time in four to eight weeks.
The new product is a recipient of the CES 2022 Innovation Award, and it’s part of a “modern smart gardening system” that allows for “largely automated” plant production.
The device is equipped with an LG inverter compressor and a weather management system that manages the tiiun’s internal temperature to promote organic development. According to LG, the device can also automatically regulate temperature and light to replicate the natural cycle of the day.
It automatically provides water eight times per 24 hours. Moreover, the device features an “Auto Ebb & Watering System,” which circulates suffucient moisture for the plants, flowers, and other items.
“The inside construction of the device is designed to increase photosynthesis efficiency, amplifying the effect of the internal LED light source to speed up the growing process,” according to LG. In addition, users may monitor the entire germination process remotely, check or modify settings, and receive reminders when the water tank needs to be refilled using LG’s ThinQ app.
There’s no word on pricing or availability in the US, although LG’s home market released it in October for 1.49 million won ($1,250). Tiiun is already available in Korea and will be unveiled at CES 2022 in January. CES 2022 will take place on January 5, 2022, and will be an on-ground event this time.
