This New Motorcycle Can Drive 600 Miles On Just $15 Of Energy

Zero Motorcycles, a California-based company that specializes in producing high-performance electric motorcycles, has launched the DSR/X model which has an impressive range of approximately 600 miles on a single charge and costs only $15 in electricity.

The company prides itself on being the “next step in motorcycle evolution” by combining traditional motorcycle design with modern technology, resulting in “high-performance electric motorcycles that are lightweight, efficient, fast off the line, and fun to ride.”

Unlike gasoline-powered motorcycles, which are notoriously loud and produce harmful emissions, the DSR/X runs on electricity, leaving no emissions or noise pollution. According to the company’s website, this results in a more impactful and immersive riding experience while having a significantly reduced impact on the environment.

“With no emissions or noise pollution, the DSR/X leaves you feeling more impacted by the experience, while having a reduced impact on the environment,” the website states.

Although electric and hybrid vehicles often have a higher initial cost, the long-term benefits, as demonstrated by the DSR/X, make it a worthwhile investment.

A recent report by the Natural Resources Defense Council highlights a study conducted by the University of Michigan’s Transportation Research Institute, revealing that the average annual cost of fueling an electric car is $485, compared to $1,117 for a gasoline-powered vehicle.

Although this study focuses on cars and not motorcycles, it underscores the significant cost disparity between electric and gas-powered vehicles

Some may express concerns about the longer charging time for electric vehicles compared to the quick refueling of gas-powered vehicles. However, one DSR/X user on Instagram suggested planning for full charges during meal stops, with shorter charges to top off the battery throughout the day.

Additionally, the DSR/X offers battery capacity upgrades that can reduce the frequency of recharging and extend the overall battery life. While electric vehicles like the DSR/X require an initial investment, they offer a cost-efficient and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional gas-powered transportation.
