With the release of its newest laptop, the Zenbook Duo (2024), Asus is once again making waves in the laptop industry. Featuring two identically sized 14-inch OLED panels with a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz, 16:10 aspect ratio, and a resolution of up to 2880 x 1800, this dual-screen laptop stands out from its predecessors. Users have a total of 19.8 inches of useable screen space between the two screens.
Asus has adopted Lenovo’s strategy by giving consumers the option to utilize a detachable physical Bluetooth keyboard or a virtual keyboard for typing on the lower touchscreen. The integrated touchpad in the keyboard, which does away with the necessity for an on-screen trackpad, is what makes the Zenbook Duo unique.
This innovative laptop offers multiple usage configurations, ranging from the standard laptop mode with a traditional keyboard and trackpad covering the bottom screen to the “Dual Screen” and “Desktop” modes, allowing users to arrange the screens vertically or horizontally. Additionally, the “Sharing” mode lets users lay the laptop flat on a surface, screens facing up, for collaborative work scenarios.
Equipped with cutting-edge hardware, the Zenbook Duo can be configured with up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor, 32GB of RAM, up to 2TB of storage, and a robust 75Wh battery. Connectivity options include two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a USB-A port, HDMI out, and a 3.5mm jack. Users can also employ Asus’ stylus for creative tasks.
The laptop’s detachable Bluetooth keyboard is lightweight and portable. When not in use, it may be charged by placing it on the pogo pins around the lower screen’s corners. With improved functionality and a contemporary style, the Zenbook Duo (2024), priced at $1,499 in the US, £1,699.99 in the UK, and €2,099.99 in Europe, is poised to compete in the dual-screen laptop market.
Apart from the Zenbook Duo, Asus showcased several impressive laptops at CES 2024, including the Vivobook Pro 15 OLED, Vivobook S series, and gaming laptops under the TUF brand. Every model meets a variety of user requirements, demonstrating Asus’ dedication to providing a wide array of choices for its clients.
