New Home Battery Hits 12,000 Cycles, Charges 4 Times Faster, Lives 48 Years

The energy storage industry is witnessing a groundbreaking advancement with the introduction of the Ampere.StoragePro (ASP) by German manufacturer Energiekonzepte Deutschland (EKD).

EKD claims that the ASP “sets new standards in terms of performance and flexibility for modern energy storage systems.” With its cutting-edge components and innovative features, the ASP is designed to elevate energy supply to new heights.

One of the standout features of the ASP is its exceptional lifespan. Laboratory tests indicate that the ASP could last up to 48 years—double the industry average of 24 years. This impressive durability is largely due to its advanced integrated security system, which continually monitors the home’s energy network. The system proactively shuts down if it detects any irregularities in voltage, temperature, or current. EKD has also incorporated additional sensors to detect potential short circuits or improper installations before they can develop into serious issues, ensuring a higher level of safety.

The longevity of the ASP is further supported by the use of prismatic lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells, which are known for their safety and durability. EKD guarantees full performance for ten years, but the company also notes that even after a decade, the ASP retains much of its original capacity. “Even after 10 years have passed, the Ampere.StoragePro retains much of its original capacity, making it a sustainable and economical solution for long-term energy storage,” EKD stated. The LFP cells used in the ASP are capable of enduring up to 12,000 charging cycles, and their thermal stability and lack of toxic chemicals make them a particularly safe choice.

Beyond its long lifespan, the ASP also excels in performance. It offers charging and discharging speeds up to four times faster than conventional systems, with a peak discharge capacity of 20 kW. A 12 kW three-phase inverter, three independent Maximum Power Point (MPP) trackers, and intelligent shading management technology further enhance the system’s efficiency. According to EKD, this combination can lead to a remarkable 20% increase in actual storage performance.

Flexibility is another key advantage of the ASP, which is available in six versions with storage capacities ranging from 6.6 kWh to 23.1 kWh. This flexibility allows users to maximize the energy output from their solar systems, even on cloudy days.

“This impressive performance allows you to get the maximum energy out of your solar system even on days with little sunshine. By storing the energy efficiently, you can use it in the evening, at night, or whenever the sun is not shining,” EKD stated on their website.
