Microsoft has announced that it will be adding AI-generated art to its Office suite. The app is called Designer and it comes free with Office.
Microsoft Designer integrates its graphic design app with DALL-E 2 AI software, which was created by Microsoft-backed start-up OpenAI. Designer will allow people to add design ideas, and create social media posts, graphics, and other creative projects.
The created images can also be downloaded and shared.
The company will include an AI text-to-image model in its search engines Bing and Edge as well, according to the company’s blog post. The Microsoft Create site can be used by anyone with creative needs.
The company wants people to have the ability to use words not only for searching for content but for also creating it. The AI used can also help create a graphic from a written description! This is an exciting feature. However, people are questioning it and doubting if the content created will always be 100% original and not create copies of something that already exists. They are also concerned about the quality of the AI-generated images.
The full launch date for Microsoft Designer is yet to be announced. However, it is clear that when it is launched, there will be both free and premium options available.
