If only had they made this futuristic gadget sooner, we would have completely phased the shelves out. Say hello to the CLM 2 Levitating Shelf and yes, as the name implies it is indeed a shelf that is capable of making objects float.
The shelf is capable of holding anything that weighs up to 20 pounds and will float while the objects are on it. The company behind this gadget is Crealev and the product has two main components, the base plate and the floating disc. The base plate can be placed on any surface and needs to be powered up by an electrical socket. Now you will have to place the disc on top of it while ensuring that the rubber side is facing down. The rest is taken care of by device; it has an optical sensor installed on the base plate and ascertains when the carrier disc is held in the right position, after which the both discs are ‘locked in’. The gadget makes use of magnetism to keep the carrier plate levitated and above the base plate, however, since it makes use of magnetism, the users are required to be careful about what they place on it.
Without any weight, the disc floats about 3.4 inches above the base plate and this distance varies as you put weight on the disc and will vary between 1 – 2 inches. As of now, there is no news about the price of the gadget but you can check at the company’s website in order to find out more about when will it be available and how much will it cost.
Nice useless gadget!!
