StudioMOM is a company that has created the LAVO bike which is a small modular hydrogen-powered transport concept. This mechanism gives a green solution for long-distance transportation.
LAVO System is the world’s first and only commercial-ready hydrogen energy storage system that can be used for both residential settings and businesses.
The technology was led by researchers at the University of New South Wales. The objective is to find an innovative and green solution for the increasing energy crisis.
The bike comprises hydrogen tanks that get hydrogen from water and solar energy and use it to run the bike. It changes electricity from solar panels with the help of an electrolyzer that breaks down water into hydrogen and oxygen before transferring it to a long-term storage system containing a metal alloy to produce hydrogen.
The bike can entirely get charged in 10 minutes and it has a range of around 93 miles (150 km). It has thrice the storage capacity of its contemporaries and a lifespan twice as long.
The bike has a sleek design and is portable. Moreover, its design features a series of modular elements, which could potentially make it easier to repair or upgrade. These features make the bike well-suited for urban settings.
The LAVO system will be ready to be installed in mid-2021, and it will soon be a part of bike designs that put a new spin on an old classic.
