iPhones are all cool and funky, but not everyone can live without the headphone jack, non-expandable memory, and no Bluetooth. The obvious choice would be to switch to an Android, but what do you do about the insecurity and the slow OS?
Entrepreneur Joseph Savion’s company ESTI Inc. came up with a solution where you can have the best of both worlds, as he has devised a method to literally strap an Android phone to the back of an iPhone with the ESTI’s Eye phone case.
The case is currently seeking funding on the Kickstarter and is essentially an Andriod strapped to an iPhone. It adds a 5-inch AMOLED display, a 2800mAh battery, up to 256GB of microSD storage, a 2.3GHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 CPU, dual SIM slots, a headphone jack and wireless charging features to your iPhone so that it can be taken as a phone in itself.
The two versions of the case come with and without cellular connectivity, and the unique Android device can also use iPhone’s internet connection. It is not entirely just an individual phone case, though since the device does integrate and share some features with the iPhone such as its speakers, microphones, and cameras.
The case uses Android 7.1 Nougat and is priced at $189 (or $229 for the 4G version), although you can catch the early bird deal at Kickstarter and get yours $95 ($129 for 4G).
The Eye seems to incline more on the interesting side than the practical one, as it seems like just an added bulk on your slim and trim iPhone. But apparently, people have taken a likening to the idea, as the campaign has over $100,000 of its $95,000 goal with 32 days to go!
