One can really appreciate the simplicity of skyscrapers; go up! Nowadays, it has become a battle between different architects and engineers to secure a spot in the list of tallest of buildings and the list is constantly being upgraded. As of right now, the tallest building is the Burj Khalifa that was completed back in 2010 and has a height of 828 meters with 163 floors. We have compiled a list of five buildings that will surpass (or not) it in the next five years. Check out the list and let us know what you think of these amazing tall buildings of the future.

5. Central Park Tower in the USA

It is also known as Nordstrom Tower and was designed by Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture. This is the same team that designed Burj Khalifa in Dubai. The tower will sport a height of 547 meters and shall become the tallest building in the western hemisphere when it is completed in 2019.

4. Ping An Finance Center China

This center will be a 115-story financial building with a total height of 599 meters once it is completed. It has been designed by the famous designer, Kohn Pedersen Fox. It is located in Shenzhen, China and will be completed this year.

3. Wuhan Greenland Center in China

This office building features a unique design, curved, and will achieve a total height of 636 meters once it is finished in 2017. The whole structure is to be covered in glass and will be completely streamlined to minimize wind drag.

2. Suzhou Zhongnan Center in China

This one is located in China and is under construction since 2014. It is expected to be completed in 2020 and once completed, it will be the tallest building in China with a height of 729 meters and a total cost of $4.46 billion.

1. Jeddah Tower in Saudi Arabia

Once finished in 2018, the Jeddah Tower aka Kingdom Tower in Saudi Arabia shall be 1,000 meters high! The estimated cost is $1.23 billion.
