The World’s First Carpet-Cleaning Robot Can Do What No Robot Vacuum Ever Could

Home robotics has come a long way from simple vacuum bots to devices that mop, scrub, and even self-empty. But carpets have remained a stubborn frontier for automation. Enter the Robotin R2, a fully autonomous carpet-cleaning robot that promises to change that. Touted as the world’s first all-in-one carpet care system, the R2 merges deep vacuuming, automated washing, and intelligent drying into one sleek, modular package.

The Robotin R2 is built for those who crave spotless carpets without the effort. Using AI-powered navigation, the robot scans and maps every inch of your floors, adjusting automatically as it transitions between different surfaces. With its AI-Perception System – a network of 12 smart sensors – it detects flooring types, identifies obstacles, and plans efficient routes, ensuring no spot is missed. For extra control, users can mark “no-go zones” through the companion app to keep the robot out of certain areas.

Early testers have praised the R2’s all-in-one performance, noting that it delivers professional-level cleaning with little human input. Its Kickstarter campaign quickly exceeded its funding goals, offering reassurance that backers will indeed receive their units on time though deliveries are expected by March 2026.

At the core of R2’s cleaning power is its three-stage washing system, designed to handle stubborn stains and debris. The robot can clean up to 400 square feet (37 sq m) per hour while recycling dirty water, reducing waste. Thanks to its RapidHeat Technology, it heats water to 140 °F (60 °C) in just 10 minutes, breaking down stains faster and shortening drying time. The dedicated drying system then pushes 110 °F (43 °C) air through carpet fibers, drying the same 400-square-foot area in roughly two hours, with built-in humidity sensors fine-tuning airflow for consistent results.

On the suction front, the R2 boasts an industrial-grade motor generating 115 AW of power and 48 CFM of suction, capable of extracting dirt, dust, and pet hair trapped deep in carpet fibers. Anti-tangle brushes prevent the dreaded hair clogging that plagues most robot vacuums, while the dirt-detection system focuses on heavily soiled areas until they meet its cleanliness standards.

Its smart docking station takes the hassle out of maintenance automatically refilling, emptying waste, and charging as needed. The dock features a 2.4-gallon clean water tank, a 1.6-gallon dirty water compartment, and a 1.8-liter dust bin that can store up to 60 days of debris. Powering the operation is a 10,000-mAh battery that recharges to 80% in just 24 minutes, allowing for longer, uninterrupted cleaning sessions.

Despite its advanced internals, the Robotin R2 remains compact, measuring only 16 x 15.7 x 6 inches (40.6 x 39.9 x 15.2 cm). The creators emphasize that their mission is to bring industrial-grade performance into everyday homes through an eco-friendly and truly hands-off experience.

For those eager to simplify their cleaning routine, the Robotin R2 is available for $799 (a $700 discount) during its Kickstarter campaign, which includes the robot, docking station, and two cleaning solutions. However, availability varies by region, so potential buyers should check the campaign page for details.
