On Monday, the Swedish manufacturer Koenigsegg revealed that the Jesko Absolut achieved an astounding feat: accelerating from zero to 250 mph and back to zero in just 28.27 seconds. This time surpasses the previous record set by the Koenigsegg Regera by 1.33 seconds.
Additionally, the Jesko Absolut broke another record by going from zero to 400 km/h and back to zero in 27.83 seconds, 0.98 seconds faster than the Regera’s record from 2023. These achievements cement the Jesko Absolut as the fastest production car in its category.
The Jesko Absolut’s record-breaking performance was not limited to a single run. On June 27, during tests at an airfield in Örebro, Sweden, the supercar set another benchmark by reaching 400 km/h in a mere 18.82 seconds. It also claimed the record for the fastest acceleration to 250 mph, achieving the feat in just 19.2 seconds. These milestones highlight Koenigsegg’s relentless pursuit of speed and precision.
These extraordinary records came under the expert guidance of Koenigsegg’s factory test driver, Markus Lundh. The meticulous testing showcased not only the car’s capabilities but also the precision engineering behind every aspect of its design.
Jesko Absolut has a 5.0-litre twin-turbocharged V-8 engine, capable of producing an impressive 1600 horsepower on E85 gasoline. It is paired with Koenigsegg’s innovative Light Speed Transmission (LST), a nine-speed gearbox featuring seven clutches for lightning-fast shifts and optimal performance.
The Jesko Absolut distinguishes itself from others by prioritizing straight-line speed over downforce. Its streamlined design minimizes drag and allows for incredible speed and efficiency. The absence of a prominent rear wing and strategic aerodynamic optimizations contribute to its incredible acceleration.
Looking ahead, Christian von Koenigsegg, the company’s founder, envisions even greater speeds for the Jesko Absolut. He suggests that under optimal conditions, the supercar could potentially reach 330 mph, underscoring Koenigsegg’s relentless drive for automotive excellence and innovation.
The development of the Jesko Absolut represents the culmination of over 8,000 hours of intensive engineering and aerodynamic refinement. Koenigsegg’s dedicated teams conducted extensive fluid dynamic analysis and made meticulous design adjustments, resulting in a car that not only breaks records but also redefines automotive performance.
Crafted from lightweight materials, the Jesko Absolut boasts a remarkable power-to-weight ratio, aiming to match Koenigsegg’s legendary One:1 model. The advanced engine features a flat-plane crankshaft, twin turbochargers, and Koenigsegg’s innovative Freevalve technology, delivering exceptional performance on both standard gasoline and E85 fuel.
Beyond its record-breaking performance, the Jesko Absolut offers a luxurious interior with premium materials such as leather, carbon fibre, and Alcantara. The SmartCluster dashboard, equipped with a TFT touchscreen that moves with the steering wheel, ensures vital information remains prominently displayed for the driver’s convenience and focus.
