Hyundai, the South Korean brand, has revealed some impressive specifications for its most awaited electric vehicle, i.e., the Ioniq 6. This incredible marvel of technology will be taking pre-orders at the end of this year and, due to its thrilling features, it could give tough competition to Tesla. However, the Ioniq 6 is not the first released version of the electric car in Hyundai’s fleet. Instead, Ioniq 5 was the pioneer and came up with some versatile capabilities. The first and foremost thing which differentiates Ioniq 6 from its predecessor is the inclusion of an additional 100 km range and has an estimated WLTP range of about 610 km (379 miles). However, it will start the production of the vehicles on a global scale from the beginning of next year.
Hence, if we talk in comparison with the Tesla Model 3 Long Range and Tesla Model S, then the Ioniq 6 overpowers both of them in one way or the other. It has a range of 379 miles, while the Tesla Model 3 comes with a range of 374 miles, so Tesla now has a new competitor in the market. Let’s see if Tesla will upgrade its model or not to beat the competition. Moreover, the Ioniq 6 is also cheaper than the Model S, with an estimated price of about $50,640, which falls within the price range of the Tesla Model 3, but the company has not yet declared an official notification regarding its price.
One of the most interesting details of the bunch is its charging capacity, and you will be thrilled to know that it just takes around 18 minutes to charge the battery from 10% to 80% instantaneously. It contains superfast chargers of both 400 V and 800 V as well, which wouldn’t let you wait for long, and honestly; this could be the most celebrated feature in the eyes of customers. However, the Korean people would be the first ones to receive the orders of Ioniq 6, which will be followed by the European nation at the end of 2022. On the other hand, it will be commercially available in the U.S. market in the year 2023.
While talking about the design specifications, Hyundai prevails on sanity by calling this incredible Ioniq 6 an “electrified streamliner” as it is built by keeping the aerodynamic features in mind. These engraved aerodynamic capabilities into the Ioniq 6 will reduce its drag and increase its speed, and it’s one of the reasons for its enhanced range, which has beaten the Tesla Model 3 as well. Furthermore, it comes with a drag coefficient of 0.21 and is manufactured on the neat idea of “Hyundai’s E-GMP platform” just like the Ioniq 5 to carry out some versatile modifications in its interior.
There’s also a “relaxation comfort seat” which provides you with enough comfort even during the waiting time of recharging the car so that you can just lie down on this fully flat seat and relax. Moreover, during the construction of its interior, the company preferred to use sustainable materials, thus keeping the concept of a green environment alive. The ergonomics of the car allow you to easily make your movements, thereby providing easy access to the outlets.
With this comes the concept of reverse charging, through which you can quickly charge other objects or other EVs with your Ioniq 6 via the V2L system (vehicle to load).
