Selfie sticks caused a huge roar in their day but are slowly disappearing from the scene. AbleTech has released the new Evo GoCam that takes taking selfies to a whole new level. It is actually a smartphone case that contains the removable selfie cam.
The Evo GoCam smartphone case has been designed to fit the recent iPhone models and some selected popular android phones. The case has a 6 mm-thick camera connected to the WiFi which can be slid out and placed somewhere when it is time to take pictures.
It has the ability to shoot 5-megapixel stills and 1080/30fps video which is recorded on an SD card and transmitted to the phone up to a distance of 150 ft. There is also a custom app that the users can use to see what the camera is seeing and use it to take the pictures or record the video. They can even share them on social media from there or stream it live.
The cleanable, adhesive back panel of the camera is reusable and can not only be propped up against stuff but can be stuck to the walls. Its applications go further than just taking selfies and it can be used as a dash cam, a baby monitor or a number of other activities.
The Evo GoCam is currently the subject of an Indiegogo campaign and a pledge of $89 will allow you to get your hands on one provided that it reaches the production stage. You can check out the promo video below:
