Tesla has again upped the ante of in-car entertainment and mood with a new software update that adds a spectacular new feature, linking ambient interior lights to music. This newest addition is already being touted as one of the coolest interior features ever, being rolled out with the Version 2025.26+ Software Update.
The feature, which is officially called Sync Accent Lights w/ Music, is now available in the Tesla Toybox menu. Drivers need only to go to Toybox and choose the Light Sync setting and switch on the music sync option. When activated, the interior ambient lighting will pulse and sync to the beat and rhythm of whatever music is being played, creating a mini light show within the vehicle.
It is only found in newer Tesla models with ambient lighting. This consists of the updated models of the Model S and Model X and the redesigned Model 3 “Highland” and Model Y “Juniper.” Tesla’s futuristic Cybertruck is also equipped with ambient lighting strips and is compatible with the new sync function.
Although the feature does not affect the vehicle’s performance or safety, it is a perfect example of how Tesla mixes the latest technology with fun and style. It is not the matter of driving anymore, but the experience. Whether you’re cruising solo at night or giving friends a ride, the syncing light show transforms the cabin into a dynamic, immersive environment.
Tesla is once again pushing the envelope of what a car can become. The automaker has continuously redefined the in-car experience with Autopilot and Full Self-Driving capabilities, hidden Easter eggs, and even gaming. It does not make the car faster, but it makes the ride more memorable. It is little details like this that make Tesla cars so interesting and that make owners and passers-by say, That is so cool.
