Portable Acs have been around for a while but one that moves with you without compromising your style is what is called innovation. Reon Pocket 5 from Sony might just offer that. This offers a convenient solution to manage body temperatures in different environments.
With a thermo-electric module incorporated in its design coupled with scores of sensors the Reon Pocket 5 creates a microclimate around your core. These sensors work rigorously to ensure that the temperature of your body remains comfortable.
The device has 4 heating and 5 cooling levels. It can also operate with the Reon Pocket Tag which assesses the temperature of the atmosphere and then decides your comfort level. The tag sends data to the neck unit which then lets the device do the rest.
Manual adjustment is also possible with this app. An app is available for both android and iOS. This function comes handy when a person is undergoing outdoor activities like hiking etc where the possibility of temperatures fluctuating is more. The Reon Pocket 5 comes with a 17-hour battery life as per Tech Radar.
The Reon Pocket has been available since 2019 in Japan. But with the latest version it goes global. UK would be the first market outside of Japanese and Asian markets to have the Reon Pocket 5. The device is out for pre-orders already at a cost of £139 (roughly USD 170 or AU$260). The shipments of the same would start by 15th May. The basic variant includes a Reon Pocket Tag and a white neckband.
The Reon Pocket 5 is a unique alternative to the traditional methods of temperature control. It is yet to be seen if it would live up to the hype of providing flawless body temperature control. Nonetheless, it is something that is hard to ignore and more importantly a concept that is here to stay.
