Situated atop Bali, Indonesia’s magnificent Nyang Nyang Beach Cliff is the Private Jet Villa, an astounding example of modern architecture and an extravagant way of life.
This fantastic house by Geometrium Studio is made from the fuselage of a former Boeing 737 airplane and provides a unique experience. Converting an aircraft into an opulent retreat was especially difficult because of its difficult cliffside location and limited inside space. With skill, Geometrium Studio overcame these obstacles and redesigned the inside to radiate luxury while making the most of every inch of the area.
“We had to rethink every aspect of the design,” reflects the team, “from ventilation systems to custom furniture to seamlessly integrate luxury into the aircraft’s structure.”
The interior decor’s rounded curves and light colors blend seamlessly with the fuselage’s tubular form to provide an overall feeling of spaciousness. Mirrors are arranged to maximize natural light and highlight the tastefully chosen combination of concrete and wood textures. The design team said, “Our goal was to evoke a sense of serenity within the confined quarters while preserving the aircraft’s unique identity.”
Whether arriving by helicopter or car, getting to the villa is an adventure in and of itself. A floating staircase serves as the grand entry. The center of the house opens into a communal living area that blends in perfectly with the airplane’s wings to provide expansive views of the surroundings.
“Each terrace invites guests to immerse themselves in nature’s grandeur,” says the team, “with one wing extending daringly over the cliff’s edge.”
The home has two lavish bedrooms with unmatched luxury and picturesque views. In addition to a luxurious jacuzzi and a comfortable double bed, the old cockpit now has an attached bathroom. There is a second bedroom with its facilities in the rear section. “Retaining the original airplane doors was a nod to the villa’s heritage, providing intimate nooks for relaxation and reflection,” the team states.
A cantilevering pool and a fire pit next to the airplane invite visitors to engage in relaxing activities against the breathtaking scenery. “We wanted to create a seamless transition between indoor luxury and outdoor serenity,” said the design team, “offering guests a multifaceted experience that celebrates Bali’s natural beauty.”
Conceived in 2020 and completed by the end of 2023, the Private Jet Villa is now open to guests looking for a getaway. The villa is listed for holiday rentals on Airbnb and promises a memorable stay.
“It’s not just a place to stay but a destination where dreams take flight amidst the clouds and cliffs of Bali.”
