Robot apocalypse might be closer than we ever thought in the shape of these Russian Android gunslingers! These Terminator-rescue killers flaunt in a hair-raising video that shows a glimpse of the future of warfare.

The video shows a freaky humanoid robot tearing through its targets on a shooting range using an automatic weapon gripped in every robotic hand.

The robot is called FEDOR, which was reveal by Vladimir Putin’s deputy prime minister, Dmitry Rogozin,  in a tweet,

Rogozin tweeted the statement along with a video:

“Russian fighting robots – guys with iron nature.

“We are not creating a Terminator, but artificial intelligence that will be of great practical significance in a lot of spheres.”

Other than being a mean killing machine FEDOR’s advanced programming and mechanics also allows it to perform complex tasks like driving and steering vehicles and even many fitness exercises. As Australia’s Nine News reports, the Russian government also plans to send FEDOR to space, where it would be the only passenger on Russian space flight Federatsiya’s first launch in 2021.

Other than FEDOR, the video also featured free weapons like bomber drones, unmanned machine gun trucks, and self-driving tanks.

Andrey Grigoriev, who is the director of Russia’s Advanced Research Fund, told Russia’s state-run RIA Novosti last week,

“FEDOR was designed as an android able to replace humans in high-risk areas, such as rescue operations. For this purpose, it was necessary to teach him to work independently in an urban environment, navigate the terrain, drive a car, to handle special tools, first aid and other actions,”

USA and Russian have been locked into a mysterious killer robot race for decades, with Vadim Kozyulin, senior research fellow and former officer at the Soviet Ministry of Foreign Affairs, claiming the USA have been leading the way for years.

And it seems as though this US’ aggression in this battle for killer robot supremacy has raised the stakes and prompted a dangerous escalation from Russia and China. Or at least that’s what this video shows.
