Frank Lloyd Wright, the acclaimed American architect, and interior designer designed more than 1,000 structures, with 500+ of them materializing into beautiful masterpieces! He probably is the most illustrious architects of all time and thus, deserves his contributions to be commemorated in the grandest of fashions.
As an extended 150th birthday celebration of the genius, a new book called Frank Lloyd Wright Paper Models provides us a unique chance to gain hands on interaction and insight of the master’s 14 structures that can be recreated using cutting and paper folding.
Only with the help of an X-Acto knife, cutting mat, and straight edge, you can create your very own Frank Lloyd paper models. As far as the creation and the step-by-step photographic instructions is concerned, thanks to the paper engineer Marc Hagan-Guirey who uses the Japanese art of Kirigami to create these soft, and ghost-like forms of architecture.
The book provides a complete guideline on where the reader should cut and fold, with some detailed and complicated models already die cut for convenience and ease of use. Watching elaborate and astonishing structures like Falling water and the Guggenheim Museum is one thing, making them with your own bare hands is truly a spectacular prospect!
