The excitement surrounding Tesla’s long-awaited robotaxi has started after a recent photo surfaced. While the official reveal was delayed, this sighting may offer a first glimpse into what Tesla’s autonomous “Cybercab” could look like.
A photo shared on social media depicts a small, two-door yellow car, believed to be Tesla’s “Cybercab,” spotted on the Warner Bros studio lot in Los Angeles. The vehicle’s unusual design, including a boxy protrusion at the back, suggests it could be a camouflaged prototype.
According to Electrek, this image was originally posted by a Reddit user who claimed to work at Warner Bros, although both the post and the account have since been deleted. Despite the secrecy, the photo has already fueled speculation, with Twitter user Matthew Donegan-Ryan sharing the image alongside the caption:
“Woah Tesla is testing this heavily camouflaged Cybercab robotaxi on the Warner Brothers lot. We’ll see the reveal on 10/10!”
Tesla enthusiasts have also drawn connections between the vehicle and earlier concept designs. Reports from Bloomberg last month indicated that Tesla plans to unveil its robotaxi at Warner Bros’ 110-acre lot in October, making it plausible that the test vehicle is part of pre-reveal preparations. Additionally, some fans note similarities between this sighting and a concept render shared in Walter Isaacson’s biography of Elon Musk, which includes design elements speculated to be part of the robotaxi.
The specifics of the robotaxi remain largely under wraps, but early concepts suggest a small vehicle with two passenger seats, two doors, and cargo space in the back — all features that seem to align with the car seen in the photo.
However, until the official reveal, much remains uncertain.
