Albeit the call sent out to the people inside the Maracanã Stadium in Rio not to snap pictures and save the surprise, the internet is awash with leaked images and videos of the opening ceremony for Olympics 2016.
The people in the stadium gathered for the rehearsal of the Olympics 2016 opening ceremony to be held on Friday and now Facebook and Snapchat are overflowing with sneak previews of the actual ceremony.
Gisele will make an appearance to the tune of “The Girl from Ipanema” and a model of the 14-bis biplane designed by the Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont will also be a part of the ceremony.
Hundreds of dancers will liven up the proceedings and dramatic lights will add to the theatrical effect of the whole affair.
Fireworks will shoot into the sky over the peace sign and the local artists including Elza Soares and Jorge Ben Jor will take the stage to rock the night.
You only have to wait till Friday to find out if the Rio Olympics Opening Ceremony lives up to the benchmark set by the Beijing Olympics 2008 and the London spectacle in 2012. See more leaked images from the rehearsal below:
