Paraglider Spots Stray Dog Chilling Atop Great Pyramid of Giza

Paramotor pilot and professional adventurer Marshall Mosher caught sight of a stray puppy lounging atop the Great Pyramid of Giza. It was an unexpected and pleasant sight. Mosher saw the dog contentedly relaxing 138.5 meters above the ground on October 14, while soaring above the Giza Pyramid Complex on the outskirts of Cairo, and howling at birds hovering overhead. After Mosher posted the video on Instagram, the unexpected scene which was taken against the backdrop of one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World became widely popular.

Social media users responded to the dog’s careless behavior atop one of the most famous landmarks in the world with amusement and alarm. While some made jokes about the stray perhaps being the god of the afterlife in ancient Egypt, Anubis, others expressed concern over how the dog would safely down the pyramid.

An update on the inquisitive dog was given by Mosher in a subsequent video, which featured it securely back on the ground next to the pyramid with another dog. He clarified that stray dogs are frequently seen in the vicinity of the Giza complex and that they frequently make their way up and down the historic building as part of their everyday routine. The Egyptian government has now instituted a prohibition on tourists climbing the pyramids, and any who do so risk harsh consequences, such as up to three years in prison. On the other hand, it seems that the local dogs are exempt from these regulations and can roam freely atop these ancient wonders.

To the relief of everyone watching, the daring dog made a safe return to the earth in the happily ever after viral video. The event provided a unique window into the lives of the local wildlife, and it amazed both residents and visitors with the stray dog’s audacious journey atop Egypt’s most well-known monument.
