This one is for the gardening fans out there!
Getting your hands dirty and hoping against hope that those pesky critters don’t ransack your garden and eat all of the hard work in a matter of minutes! It is a feeling that only a gardening enthusiast knows. For some, this seems like a big waste of time, but for true and passionate gardening fans, this is what life is all about!
Sightfire, a gardening fan and a Reddit user, came up with an amazing solution to the problem of critters’ attack. He found another way of building a gardening pot by cutting up an old fire hose and turning it into an awesome vertical herb garden. It is a simple and easy to implement idea. Follow these steps and enhance your garden’s beauty!
First, find an old fire hose at a salvage shop, gather some bailing wire, and get your tools ready.
Cut the hose into 12-inch sections.
Remove the inner sleeves and fold over the end of each section by drilling two holes.
To stop the herbs and soil from falling out, cut and thread short lengths of bailing wire through the holes. Twist the ends to lock them in place.
Your pockets are ready to be hanged. Overlap the pockets for a cool look!
Drill them into a fence or a wall. Also, make sure that you keep the screws away from the top to avoid any ripping.
Add a handful of gravel to the pockets for easy drainage.
Add potting soil into the hose pockets.
Voila, you are done! Add any herb that you like.
Who knew that a fire hose could be such a great potting material?
Not only is it effective at keeping hungry critters away, but it also adds ingenuity and a personal aura about your garden!
