From cleaning to driving, and from nursing to security; robots have slowly but surely taken over our world for good. And the trend is nowhere decelerating, especially in far east Asia. The likes of Japan and China have been the front-runners in finding innovative applications of technology, and these new WALL-E robots are nothing short of amazing.
In Kunshan City, China one of the largest second-generation robot restaurants has been opened, much to the amusement of the customers and tech journalists. The entire robot is run by a handful of humans and 15 line tracking robots.
The robots are programmed to greet the customers, cook, take orders, serve meals and deal with the billing; so they practically run the entire show at the restaurant.
Robot themed restaurants have been trending in Japan and China, and the idea of having an entire franchise and customer service centre run without a lot of human intervention has been toyed with for quite a while now.
The robots use optical tracking sensors to track a black line for navigating around the eatery’s 3,200 sqft area.
The restaurants have been a major hit this among the locals, as they get used to being greeted, served and spoiled by completely autonomous robots. After the robot waiters are done with the orders, they politely ask customers to touch its head as a feedback of approval and so that it can continue with the work.
