On Wednesday, Microsoft unveiled that its AI-driven Designer app is now accessible to all users on iOS and Android.
The Designer app, now available in over 80 languages, can be accessed via the web, as a free mobile app, and as an application on Windows. One of its standout features is the “prompt templates,” which are designed to ignite creativity. These templates come with various styles and descriptions, allowing users to experiment and customize their designs. Additionally, users can share templates to build upon each other’s ideas collaboratively.
Apart from stickers, the app allows the creation of emojis, clip art, wallpapers, monograms, avatars, and more using text prompts. It also provides tools to edit and restyle images with AI. For example, users can upload a selfie and choose from a range of styles, adding any extra details they wish to transform their photo.
Microsoft is also introducing a “replace background” feature, which will soon enable users to transform images using text prompts.
With the launch of the Designer app, Microsoft is integrating this service into apps like Word and PowerPoint through Copilot. Those with a Copilot Pro subscription can seamlessly create images and designs within their workflow. Soon, users will even have the option to create a banner for their Word documents based on the document’s content.
In addition, Microsoft also revealed that Microsoft Photos on Windows 11 is getting a deeper integration with Designer. Users can now utilize AI to edit photos directly within the Photos app, performing tasks such as erasing objects, removing backgrounds, and auto-cropping images.
