Michael Schumacher’s Race-Winning F1 Tire Has Been Turned Into A Bracelet

The last three Formula 1 seasons have been dominated by the fierce competition between Red Bull and Max Verstappen, reminiscent of previous eras dominated by Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton or Red Bull with Sebastian Vettel. However, amidst this recent frenzy, Michael Schumacher’s reign in the 1990s and 2000s with Ferrari stands out as one of the most dominant periods in the sport’s history.

The Schumacher family, in collaboration with Monegasque jewelry brand Mongrip, has introduced an exclusive accessory collection named MZ96. This limited-edition collection comprises 91 bracelets meticulously crafted from the rubber of Schumacher’s victorious tire from the 1996 Italian F1 Grand Prix.

The foundation utilized a rear tire preserved from the winning Ferrari F310B to create these unique relics, setting them apart as one of the coolest and most original Schumacher memorabilia items.

The minimalist and sleek design of the bracelet showcases spliced tire rubber, retaining the original woven nylon from the Goodyear Eagle F1 tires. These tires were originally mounted on iconic BBS gold wheels during that period. The decorative clasp of the bracelet is made of platinum and includes intricate engravings.

One side features the dragon emblem, popular in the later stages of Schumacher’s career, along with seven round-cut diamonds representing each of his F1 titles. The other side bears Schumacher’s iconic monogram resembling an F1 cockpit’s silhouette, as well as the bracelet’s serial number.

Notably, Bracelet No. 01 recently fetched an impressive $32,600 at a Bonhams auction. The next seven serial numbers will be available for purchase on December 7 through the Mongrip website, each priced at 8,000 euros (approximately $8,700).

The exclusivity and collectibility of these bracelets are enhanced by their unique origin, crafted from a tire that contributed to Ferrari’s victory at Monza after an eight-year drought, adding to its appeal for Formula 1 enthusiasts and collectors alike.
