Mankind’s Short-Term Interests Have Doomed The World, According To Scientist

Mankind's short term interests are putting an end to the world

Human beings can not fathom the extent of destruction they’ve caused to the ecosystem, the seriousness of the dangers they are about to come across, and how it is more than what it seems. The decline of the ecosystem and the climate breakdown could be followed by a dreadful tomorrow, putting an end to humankind, according to an ecologist.

“Humanity is causing a rapid loss of biodiversity and, with it, Earth’s ability to support complex life,” lead author and Flinders University ecologist Corey Bradshaw said in a press release. “But the mainstream is having difficulty grasping the magnitude of this loss, despite the steady erosion of the fabric of human civilization.”

Planet earth is aching due to humans’ negligence, which has caused every species on earth to suffer, including themselves. Earth is gradually weakening, but the public cannot get the hang of the loss and the dangers they’ll be facing In the coming future.

Apart from the ignorance and careless attitude of humankind, another reason for the collapse of the earth
is how the world’s political and economic systems function.

In a world where the establishments work only for ephemeral rewards and where they’re only able to accomplish challenges that could be figured out in the blink of an eye and require minimum effort, issues similar to climate change are disregarded and ignored.

“In fact, the scale of the threats to the biosphere and all its lifeforms is so great that it is difficult to grasp for even well-informed experts,” Bradshaw said in the release. “The problem is compounded by ignorance and short-term self-interest, with the pursuit of wealth and political interests stymying the action that is crucial for survival.”

Organizations are defending any propaganda that could benefit their campaigns in any way, worsening and making the idea of a sustainable and cleaner atmosphere more challenging.

Chasing riches and working only for what’s in your favor combined with lack of awareness has overshadowed the actual issues like climate change which will determine our survival.
