Limitless Energy With Fusion Power Will Soon Be Achievable, Experts Say

We all know that the world is heading towards an energy crisis and there is a dire need for clean and sustainable energy production. This is the reason why scientists are deeply studying the options of nuclear fusion power. It has been six decades since the work on this energy was started. This time, something concrete has come up, according to the Financial Times.

“Fusion is coming, faster than you expect,” Fusion Industry Association exec Andrew Holland told the publication.

Nuclear fusion will have various benefits. Nuclear fission is another way of producing electricity, but it is not clean and green. Moreover, there can be uncontrolled mass tragedies occurring due to these reactions like the one in Chernobyl.

However, nuclear fusion, on the other hand, will be more effective and productive as it is a clean source of energy. It was reported by the Financial Times that one glass of the fuel it would use has the energy potential of one million gallons of oil and could power a home for 800 years. This is extremely futuristic as it will address the electricity shortage issues for centuries for people.

However, there is one downside that the technology for bringing this power is notoriously difficult to stabilize. No venture, public or private, has yet managed to build a fusion reactor that produces more power than it consumes.

Investors are putting in money in the cause as they realize its potential. Silicon Valley investor Sam Altman recently poured $375 million into Helion, a US-based fusion startup.

It is too soon to raise the hopes entirely as a lot of work still needs to be done. Once it is achieved, problems of climate change, green and renewable energy, and less waste will all be addressed by it.
