4K has still not become popular in home TVs and manufacturers have already started to prepare 8K systems for release. LG Display started the year by announcing the world’s first 8K OLED display that has a huge 88-inch screen. The screen will be shown at CES in Las Vegas in the coming week.
Company’s spokesman told, “OLED is clearly a next-generation technology leader and for this reason, LG Display is accelerating its research and development into OLED so that we can provide differentiated products to customers and markets.” According to LG, OLED technology gives ultra-high resolution without disturbing the image brightness. It has low power requirements as compared to backlit LCD panels. Since OLED don’t require backlighting, they are super slim as well.
Apart from telling that the panel has 33 million pixels in 88-inches display, LG is not sharing any information about the latest product. The company intends to reveal the OLED Display at the CES in Las Vegas Convention Center’s North Hall. LG is promising that 8K OLED display will have unbeatable picture quality with perfect black, more vivid colors and wide viewing angles.
The pricing information on the device has also not been given yet. Keeping in view the last years 77-inch 4K OLED TV, this display will also not be for those who are budget conscious.
