Jeff Bezos Says He Plans To Give Away Most Of His £110,000,000,000 Fortune

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos recently stated that he intends to give away the “majority” of his immense wealth.

Bezos made the remarks in a CNN interview on Saturday, when he stated that he intends to use his money to combat climate change and to support societal “unifiers.”

Bezos is a little more careful when it comes to pledging his money. As a result, it is unknown how the Amazon founder wants to spend his $124 billion.

“The hard part is figuring out how to do it in a levered way. It’s not easy,” he said of his thoughts on big donations.

In his CNN interview, Bezos did not lay forth a plan to save the planet. He did, however, admit to being a fan of Dolly Parton.

Although his future philanthropic ambitions are uncertain, Bezos and his partner Lauren Sanchez gave pop superstar Dolly Parton a $100 million donation to be distributed to a charity of Parton’s choice. Bezos made a similar donation to CNN contributor Van Jones and chef José Andrés in 2021.

Bezos, unlike his other wealthy counterparts, including his ex-wife, MacKenzie Scott, has not signed the Giving Pledge, a pledge by some of the world’s wealthiest people to contribute most of their fortunes to charity. Bill Gates and Warren Buffett founded the Giving Pledge.

Bezos pledged $10 billion to the Bezos Earth Fund in 2020 and distributed $947 million by October 2021.
