Jaguar Land Rover Wants To Hire Laid-Off Twitter And Meta Employees

Elon Musk has taken over the reins of Twitter and ever since it has been in the news every day! This has been followed by laying off a lot of employees lately. However, Twitter is not the only global company carrying out layoffs. Amazon and Meta had the same practice recently too. There is an upside for the employees who were laid off.

Jaguar Land Rover is looking to hire most of the software engineers to let go of those aforementioned companies.

Jaguar Land Rover is finding to fill nearly 800 jobs in England, Ireland, the U.S., China, India, and Hungary. JLR is looking to become an EV-focused brand by 2025. For this to be achieved, the company needs extremely capable and talented people to come up with electrification and self-driving tech along with machine learning and data science. Most of the jobs will be in England, divided between the Gaydon and Manchester facilities.

Jaguar Land Rover’s Chief Information Officer told Reuters that the company has been on the employment lookout for quite some time now but the right people were just not there. Now, is the best time for them to find what they were looking for.

Jaguar Land Rover will not be turning into an entirely electric brand by 2025, but Jaguar itself wants to be an all-electric brand by 2024. Currently, Jaguar is way behind the line of companies like Tesla, Lucid, Ford, Cadillac, Mercedes, and BMW, in terms of electric tech, range, and efficiency. For the company to compete with the giants, it needs the best resources its range, and both battery and thermal management software. Hopefully, it all works out for both the laid-off employees and the company.
