Fancy car shows and intimate events to impress stakeholders are for the weak and the meek. Behold, the world’s longest barrel roll in arguably the world’s coolest car reveal show! Jaguar is breaking the internet with their launch ceremony for the E-Pace, where the car literally broke on to the scene with a massive barrel roll, the longest one as claimed by the company, and consequently into the Guinness Book of World Record.
This is the smallest SUV in the Jaguar lineup, but it sure as hell packs a punch! The standard E-Pace comes with a 2.0-liter I4 that provides up to 246 horsepower. The all-wheel drive vehicle offers nine-speed transmission and can transfer its torque to either the front or the rear axle.
But all these impressive specs stand nowhere close to adding to the promotional campaign than the astounding stunt jump performed by the E-Pace to create a Guinness World Record. The gap for the ramp jump was a whopping 15.3 m (50 ft) as the car spun for a 270-degree barrel roll in the air while making the freak leap.
“As far as I am aware no production car has ever cleanly completed a bona-fide barrel roll and therefore it has always been an ambition of mine to perform one ever since I was a boy,” says driver Terry Grant. “After driving the Jaguar F-Pace in the record-breaking loop-the-loop, it has been amazing to help launch the next chapter of the Pace family in an even more dramatic dynamic feat.”
